My intentions aren’t to become some workd renowned blogger, but more use my own blog as a way to help market myself and my side projects.

I’ll obviously be writing items that relate to said projects, but I’ll also be putting up random things of interest and solutions to problems that often take a while to solve… if not for other people to get use out of, then for myself when I come across that same problem a couple of months down the track and have forgotten the solution!

Then of course are the funnies… no personal blog is complete without the funnies, so don’t fret, I’ll throw in some stuff from the lighter side as well.

It’s ideal for anyone else who is not very technical but who wants to blog or share photos online. It’s also a fine tool for web guru’s who would like to just blog from their email environment knowing that they can paste inline and attached images into their emails and they’ll be handled nicely when they are published online. So what defines a superstar? According to dictionary.com,

su?per?star

a person, as a performer or athlete, who enjoys wide recognition, is esteemed for exceptional talent, and is eagerly sought after for his or her services.

According to me… anyone who can make anyone sit up and pay attention, regardless of if they are interested or not in what this person(s) does, they recognise that they are are something special. Someone that will be spoken about and documented for years to come. Everybody knows them.

So where have they all gone? There’s nothing that I can see today that to me, fits the definitions above. Sure there are some people who are beyond reach of the rest in their field, but nobody who captures the disbelief of a public audience. Nobody who you could safely make a documentary and put it on prime time TV. Nobody who’d put a world in mourning when their time came to an end.

Obviously this list isn’t complete, but you get the idea.

And why is this happening? Are we becoming too segregated? Are we all trying to fit into too many niches? Is the media too spread thin to feed the creation of these superstars?

I don’t know… all I know is I want them back, I want superstars in todays world to sit back and admire. I want to live in a time where I can be amazed at one persons actions, and not have to look up the documentaries of yesterday at somebody I’ve all but forgotten and then say wow, I want them back in my face.

It all seems to easy to call someone of our time great, but nobody comes close to being a superstar.

Might as well be you… step up.

Can you imagine a world without goon? A dark place, where social drinking becomes plain old drinking, where uni students with $13 to their name can no longer have a good time, EVER, and by the end of the night you will no longer have a new hat/pillow/friend/life partner.

Without goon there will be no more goon games ie goon of fortune, it will mean the death of the Larry Layback and there will be nothing good to mix with Orange Juice
Its time to fight the good fight, and if that means buying and consuming all the boxed up liquid gold we can, so be it.

Take up your swords my friends, the challenge has been put before us.
